State and USAID: U.S. assistance in Ecuador is designed to strengthen democratic participation, disrupt illegal activities, conserve biodiversity, and address climate change. The United States will work with the Government of Ecuador and broader civil society to advance the long-term objectives of stability, strengthened democratic institutions, and environmental protection. Building strong counternarcotics cooperation with Ecuador is key to U.S. national security interests, particularly as these efforts help support our counternarcotics work with Colombia.
